Use a miter saw or a circular saw to make the cuts for the wood. The overall dimensions of this rack are 40 ½ inches wide by 31 ⅝ inches tall by 18 inches deep.
Step 2
Assemble the lower frame that will hold the firewood. Use wood glue and 2½ inch wood screws to connect the boards. Always pre-drill pilot holes prior to inserting a screw.

Make the second box, which will support the tabletop. Use wood glue and two screws at each location.

Attach the legs to the shelf frame with wood glue and four screws in each location.
Step 5
Flip the entire firewood rack right side up. Attach the lower shelf by using 1-inch-thick spacer boards to hold the shelf in place, while attaching each corner with four 2½ inch screws with the shelf 1 inch off the ground.
Step 6
Using the cedar pickets, cut 12 short pieces, which will be used to cover the sides.
Step 7
Use 80 grit sandpaper and an orbital sander to smooth out the cedar pickets on one side.

Cut four picket boards for the tabletop. Use a table saw to tip the width down on each board so they fit the width of the top perfectly.

Fill in the screw holes with wood putty. Allow time to cure.

Sand the firewood storage frame to remove rough edges and excess wood putty.

After sanding, wipe down the frame to ensure the surface is clean, dull, and dry.

After reading the product label for proper application and safety instructions, paint the frame using Krylon® Fusion All-In-One® in Gloss Popsicle Orange.

Note: Shake can until ball inside begins to rattle, then shake for an additional two minutes. Hold can 8”-10” from surface, spray in sweeping motion, side-to-side with slight overlap.

Dries to touch in 20 minutes or less. Dries to handle in 1 hour. Recoat within 6 hours or after 24 hours.
Step 15
Using Krylon® Fusion All-In-One® in Gloss Ivory, spray light coats on the pickets.
Step 16
Dries to touch in 20 minutes or less. Dries to handle in 1 hour. Recoat within 6 hours or after 24 hours.
Step 17
Attach the cedar pickets to the frame using 1½ wood screws.
Step 18
Attach the tabletop from the top side using 1½ inch long screws.
