Set up a spray area by covering work area with a drop cloth. Make sure it is a well-ventilated area.
Step 2
Using an all-purpose cleaner/degreaser, wipe down chairs to remove all dirt and grime. Rinse thoroughly with water and allow to dry.
Step 3
If paint or rust is flaking off the surface, use a wire brush or sandpaper to remove it. Wipe clean.
Step 4
We painted two chairs in Krylon® Rust Protector™ Gloss Enamel - Cherry Red and one in Black. If you would prefer to create a pattern using both colors on a chair, use painter's tape to mask off your design.
Step 5
Turn chairs upside down and begin painting the bottoms first.
Step 6
Applying in a well-ventilated area, hold can 6-8 inches from the surface and paint using a sweeping side-to-side motion with slight overlap.
Step 7
Allow paint to dry for 30-60 seconds.
Step 8
Continue to apply light, multiple coats, waiting 30-60 seconds between each, until you are satisfied with the appearance.
Step 9
Krylon® Rust Protector™ Gloss Enamel dries in 8 minutes or less, and can be handled in less than one hour.
Step 10
Once dried, turn the chairs right side up and finish painting them.
