Community

Our company’s contributions and commitment extend far beyond the products and services we provide. Whether on a local level at area food banks; at the national level responding with help for the victims of hurricanes and floods; or globally to tsunami victims or countries that depend on our military to secure basic freedoms and democracy, our family of employees passionately participates in very diverse charitable initiatives to improve conditions in their communities and throughout the world.

Teams of our employees complete several charity walks together each year to benefit various non-profit causes, such as Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure and Walk to Cure Juvenile Diabetes. In 2008, employees participated in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Walk MS event and held several MS fundraisers in support of a fellow employee. Donations for all events totaled more than $9000. At the Walk to Defeat ALS in 2007, employees raised over $5,000 to fund ALS Association research and patient-services programs. During Walk Now for Autism, over 120 employees walked to raise nearly $6,000 for this worthy cause and received a plaque from Autism Speaks for their efforts. Many employees participate each year to raise funds and awareness of the many vital causes that affect employees, families and the community.

Employees also generously donate dollars to Harvest for Hunger, United Way, and other organizations that help our neighbours in need. Annually, employees contribute gifts to a Secret Santa program that benefits inner city school children.

At our 2007 National Sales Meeting in New Orleans, employees devoted an entire day to a number of community volunteer projects located throughout the city. Teams of volunteers were stationed at seven citywide locations rebuilding and helping that devastated community. Our employees worked with the New Orleans Habitat for Humanity, Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans, Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Volunteers of America, Metropolitan Battered Women’s Program, New Orleans City Park and the New Orleans Public Schools.
